JUICE
What is juice?
Juicing removes the fiber from fruits and vegetables leaving behind the natural juices that are packed with enzymes, nutrients, and vitamins. It’s a super-concentrated nutrient powerhouse - in every 12 oz serving, there’s about 2 pounds or 5 servings of fruits and vegetables! Imagine sitting down and eating that much produce - you simply can’t! Since there is little fiber in juice, the juice moves through your digestive system and is readily absorbed into your body and directed to the parts of your body that need it most within 30 minutes. Your digestive system gets to rest, while your body gets to work healing itself at the cellular level.
What is cold-pressed juice?
Cold-pressed juice is the premium juice on the market! It retains the nutrients and enzymes found in the natural juices better than any other juicing method. Mascating or centrifugal juicers have a rapidly spinning blade that heats the produce up as a byproduct. When the juice is heated, it starts losing nutrients immediately. Cold-pressed juicers spin slowly and use a hydraulic press that help maintain the integrity and life force of the juice. Plus - higher yields and less waste!
What are the benefits of juice?
The benefits of juice are endless. However, the primary and most cited benefits are high doses of nutrition, increased energy levels, weight loss, healing through cell regeneration, balancing the body’s pH, glowing complexion, and detoxification. Juice is known to alleviate and sometimes heal chronic illness.
What type of juicer do you use?
We use the Goodnature X1 cold-press juicer. It’s a massive machine that operates using a hydraulic press that squeezes the natural juices, enzymes, vitamins, and minerals out of the juice while not exposing it to excessive heat and air through the process.
What is the difference between a juice and a smoothie?
Juices have only trace amounts of fiber and are made using a juicer. Smoothies keep all of the fiber, both soluble and insoluble, inside of the drink and are made with a blender.
I'm new to juicing. What juice should I start with?
Stop by the juice bar to sample all of our juices. Our juice baristas will help you match a juice with your flavor preferences and nutritional requirements. In general, most people new to juicing prefer sweeter juices as their palette adjusts to increased fruit and vegetable intake. We suggest Paradise and Kooler for entry-level juicers, although we know you'll be craving some vegetable-packed Sunrise and Green Mustang soon enough!
How much juice should I drink?
The sky’s the limit for most people! Drink more juice, feel better. If you have blood sugar issues or are watching your intake of all sugars (including natural sugars), we suggest drinking a juice that is low on the glycemic index, such as Green Mustang.
Is there a lot of sugar in juice?
The amount of sugar in each juice varies, but it is simply the naturally occurring sugars in fruits and vegetables. Some scientists mislead people to believe that fruit sugar is detrimental to human health. If you remove the sugar from the fruit and use it as a sweetener it can be harmful. When you eat the whole food or fresh juice it is beneficial to your health and can help fight disease. Fruit actually has the power to pull endogenous toxic material from the cells and into the bloodstream for removal. Fruit is the most easily digested food and the most cleansing of all foods. Fruit sugar and the sugar in starchy vegetables like beets and carrots are instant perfect energy.
How many calories are in your juices?
Although we believe in focusing on nutritional density over calorie counting, we know it is a concern for many individuals. That being said, most of our juices range from 50-200 calories per bottle.
What about the fiber? The protein?
Fiber and protein are awesome! Juicing is not meant to entirely substitute food from your diet. Fiber plays an important role in digestion. In addition to drinking juice, we suggest eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. If you are juice cleansing, you’re giving your digestive system a rest and giving your body an opportunity to heal itself at the cellular level by not taking in large amounts of fiber. Each person has their own protein requirements, but the protein we need is certainly less than what is recommended to us.
How long does your juice last in the refrigerator?
Although juice can last 5 days in the refrigerator (7 days if it contains lemon), we always recommend drinking it within 3 days to retain maximum nutrition content and health benefits for you. Nutrition content depletes over time as juice is exposed to oxygen, or when left unrefrigerated. Please keep your juice refrigerated.
I want to make sure I get the freshest juice possible. When do you make your juice?
We juice 3 times a week to ensure that your juice is always fresh. We recommend picking your juice up on our juicing days (Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays), although your juice will certainly retain freshness and nutrition content even if you pick up on the other days of the week!
What is your refillable bottle system all about? How much can I save?
It's simple. Buy a juice, get a glass bottle. Come back and refill that bottle at a discount. Save $2 on 13 oz refills, $3 on 33 oz refills, and $5 on 64 oz refills. Oh and you're helping to save the planet. Click here to learn more about our refillable bottle system.

CLEANSES
What is a cleanse and how do I get started?
Yes! Read all about cleansing here.
This is my first cleanse. Do you have any tips for me?
We compiled a list of simple tips here to make your cleanse enjoyable. If you need help selecting the best cleanse for you, reach out to us at happy@lifesgoji.com or call us at 609-601-4233. We're happy to help.
I only have a few bottles to refill, but I need more bottles to get a cleanse. Can I order some refill bottles and some new bottles?
If you are picking up in-store – yes! Add a “refill” cleanse to your cart and we will charge you for each bottle you need to purchase when you come to pick-up your cleanse. It's helpful if you indicate how many new bottles you'll need in the "Notes" field. If you are getting your ordered delivered, we currently do not refill bottles on delivery – add a “new” cleanse to your cart. If you have further questions on this please send us an email happy@lifesgoji.com.
I’m doing a multiday cleanse and want to be charged the refill price everyday. What do I do?
If you have a set of bottles you want to be refilled each day, you will have to refill them in-store each day of your cleanse to redeem the discounted cleanse price. When checking out online, purchase one new set of bottles and then refills for each consecutive cleansing day. For example, for a 3-day cleanse you’ll want to add 1 cleanse with “new” bottles and 2 cleanses with “refills” to your cart (unless you already have a set of bottles, of course!). If you have further questions on this please send us an email happy@lifesgoji.com.
I’m doing a long cleanse, but don’t want to come to the store everyday to refill. Suggestions?
For longer cleanses, we suggest having an extra set of bottles or two so you can stock up on two or three days of juice at once. Once you have the bottles you can refill them at the discounted price every time you come in.
What is kombucha?
Kombucha is included in our Signature Cleanse for great reasons. Kombucha is a fermented and carbonated tea beverage with beneficial probiotics, b-vitamins, and enzymes. Probiotics restore balance in the gut and promote overall well-being. Benefits may include proper digestion, energy, and mental clarity among others. This wonder tea tastes slightly sweet with a hint of sour.
HELP! Why is there a jellyfish in my kombucha? And what’s a SCOBY?!
"SCOBY" is actually an acronym: Symbiotic Culture Of Bacteria and Yeast. And that's exactly what it is! A SCOBY is the living home for the bacteria and yeast that transform sweet tea into tangy, fizzy kombucha. Each bottle of Goji Kombucha contains its own SCOBY or probiotic culture which has a jelly-like consistency. Some people are shocked by this and choose not to drink it, but is the best part of it for you! We encourage everyone to drink the SCOBY and embrace its health benefits. The SCOBY validates that our product is alive and raw.
